One week in Paris…

Travel with me to Paris, France

“One Week in Paris”

I will like to share my first blog entry about what to do in Paris for 7 days and a little bit about what I do every time I come to this lovely city.

Paris is the cosmopolitan capital of france having the reputation of being the most beautiful and romantic of all cities, for its history, art, fashion, food and design. Its considered the City of Lights and Capital of Fashion,  the home of the worlds luxurious fashion designers. A large part of the city is a UNESCO world heritage site.

To go from one place to another use the Metro. In each station you will find a plan du quartier or map that will give you detailed reference of where you want to go. Plan your day to walk around each area and enjoy the panoramic views of the city from this locations: the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triumphe, Sacré-Coeur and the best views of Paris at night is from the tallest building called Tour Montparnasse.

The city is divided in Arrondissement or districts on Right Bank(north) of the river Seine where you find  Louvre Museum, the Jardin des Tuileries, Avenue des Champs-Elysées, the Opéra Garnier, and the street du Faubourg St-Honoré is the high end status of town.

The Left bank (south) includes Place St-Michel, the Église de St-Germain-des-Prés, the Panthéon, University of Paris (Sorbonne), the Latin Quarter, the city’s student lifestyle, a lot of cafe’s and many shops. In the middle of Paris you will find Île de la Cité where you will see the Cathedrale Notre-Dame, Sainte Chapelle and Conciergerie

Visit avenue des Champs-Élysées with the Arc de Triomphe in it center and Place de la Concorde at the end and the Jardin des Tuileries.

The Paris Opera is one of the most romantic building in Paris is located in Place the Bastille.

Le Marais is one of my favorite areas really trendy with a lot of little shops and cafes, nightlife and is known for artists and the gay community. This is located around of the Hôtel de Ville.

One of the most beautiful church is la Basilique du Sacré-Coeur located in Montmartre with a lot of artists around Place du Tertre. Also don’t forget to visit the parks and gardens around Paris: Jardin du Luxembourg the largest park in the city.

Shopping in Paris is a must. Try Le Marais Bazaar is really nice you can find everything. Galeries Lafayette and Bon Marche are great department stores. Walking around you’ll find many designer stores in the different quartier.

Always be safe try to book a tour for one day see how you feel about the city and get advise on how to go around and to be careful everywhere you go. What I find very interesting to do is to book a Photo tour where they will take you to the most interesting places and where you can capture the real essence of Paris and probably is the best way to walk around taking nice photos and talking about the history of every place you go…
